Meal recognition

KindMorsel processes the meal text, photo, or voice recording you choose to submit to recognize a meal and suggest one optional addition. Photos are scheduled for deletion within 15 minutes and voice after transcription. Failed cleanup is retried, and temporary media becomes eligible for storage-provider deletion after one day. Meal content is not sent to product analytics.

Before the first submission, KindMorsel asks for explicit permission to send the selected text, photo, or voice recording to OpenAI. Refusing leaves the input on the device and does not send it. The permission is stored securely on that iPhone and can be withdrawn from Privacy and data; KindMorsel will ask again before a later submission.

OpenAI processes meal text, photos, voice recordings, and voice transcripts for recognition. Responses API requests set storage to false. Under OpenAI's default API controls, customer content can be included in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days, or longer when legally required or reasonably necessary to protect services or third parties. OpenAI states that API data is not used to train its models unless the API customer opts in. Image inputs flagged by safety systems can be retained for manual review. KindMorsel requires service providers that receive personal data to protect it consistently with this policy and uses those providers only for the purposes described here.

Account, purchases, and analytics

If you sign in with Apple, KindMorsel stores the account identifier supplied by Apple, confirmed meal records, your current meal draft, feedback, explicit food preferences and saved repeat choices, quota history, and subscription entitlement. This account data is retained until you delete the account, except for the shorter media schedules and backup/deletion-receipt periods described here. RevenueCat processes purchase status; Apple processes payment. Product analytics accepts only a fixed set of interaction and subscription events and does not accept meal text, photos, voice, authorization tokens, or purchase receipts.

Deletion and retention

You can delete your account and active data inside the app. Restricted encrypted database backups expire within 30 days. An opaque deletion receipt containing an internal account ID and timestamp, but no Apple ID, email, or meal data, is retained separately for 60 days so restored backups cannot reactivate deleted accounts.

Food safety

Meal suggestions are general food ideas. KindMorsel 1.0 does not offer an allergy or exclusion profile and does not collect allergy or exclusion data through the app. It does not screen meals, labels, preparation details, or cross-contact for allergens and does not provide medical advice.
